Though it's unclear when the pair first began dating, Diame was firstlinked as her boyfriendin a 2012 story from theWashington Post. Seven years later, news broke thatthe two were engagedafter Rae was photographed wearing a diamond ring onthatfinger on her cover forEssence's April 2019 issue. However, the "Insecure" star's brother later toldUs Weeklythat Diame actually proposed over the holidays in 2018.
Rae rarely speaks about her relationship publicly, but on July 26, 2021, she couldn't help but announce thatshe and Diame wedin a lush ceremony in the South of France that she jokingly passed off as a "photo shoot."
