Courteney Cox Talks Homecourt's New Room Deodorants
Courteney Cox Gives Us the Inside Scoop on Her Home-Care Brand's Newest Launch

Courteney Coxis a bonafide neat freak — and proud of it. She's constantly straightening up, tossing things that no longer speak to her, and rearranging her home in pursuit of the perfect space — a trait that dates back to her childhood, when she'd regularly redecorate the bedroom she shared with her sister. "We only had a turntable, a three-in-one stereo unit, two twin beds, one bedside table, but you wouldn't believe what I could do with that," Cox tells POPSUGAR.

Homecourt's latest launch is room deodorant sprays that pack a powerful aromatic punch and boast a compact, chic design — an element that Cox hails as being "the key" to the whole line. "[We wanted] something that was functional, that really did the job and was safe — but also something that was so upscale compared to the usual products that you can get, especially cleaning products," she said.
Cox told POPSUGAR all about scent-scaping, her favorite ways to use Homecourt's new room deodorants, and whether or not her brand would get Monica's seal of approval. On Homecourt's New Room Deodorants
Homecourt's new room spray works to neutralize odors at the molecular level, all while filling the desired space with a rich, fragrant scent. Similar to the brand's other products, the Room Deodorants have aromatic qualities built into their DNA, with staple fragrances that range from a rosewater-infused smell to a crisp neroli leaf blend and Cox's personal favorite, theCece Room Deodorant($45), which features notes of sweet cardamom, cedarwood smoke, cinnamon, and white leather.
"It goes in any room, it doesn't matter, but obviously the bathroom's a great place," Cox says. "It neutralizes bad odors. It's not just something that covers things up, and it actually works. Whether that's in your kitchen where you smell something that you don't love or [you're] in the gym, you could use it anywhere. . . . Just use your imagination. It works. In every room, it works."
Speaking from personal experience, it's also incredibly easy to use. Per the Homecourt website, users can simply spray the Room Deodorant in the air — two to three spritzes are ideal — while keeping a distance of at least 8-10 inches from surfaces or walls. The product promises a rich, long-lasting fragrance that holds its smell. I've tested the spray in my bedroom, kitchen, and home gym, and have noticed that each space not only smells infinitely better, but also feels fresher, too. Best of all, the room spray is contained in a 100 percent post-consumer recycled bottle with a reusable pump, so I can reuse or recycle the product once I'm finished with it, too.
On the Magic of Scent-Scaping
Every scent in Homecourt's entire product collection can be paired with one another. This stems from Cox's love of scent-scaping, a design practice rooted in designating different aromas for different areas of your home based on each space's aesthetic and vibe.
"I love to mix scents. I don't have just a regular perfume; I mix oils with the perfume. And I came up with a scent years ago, and that's the scent of CeCe," says Cox. "That was really important to me, to put scents together that were unique and different. If you like theNeroli Leaf Room Deodorant($45), if you like theCipres Mint Room Deodorant($45) — they all do flow together."
While different seasons call for different fragrances, Cox also believes any of the Room Deodorants can be used in your home year-round. "I have a Steeped Rose that's in my bedroom, and then CeCe's in my kitchen and lounge area, while the Neroli is in my bathroom. Mint is one of my favorite ones, and that's actually in my kitchen. I just think that they work in all seasons." The Steeped Rose is my personal favorite of all the scents, as it smells like a fresh bouquet of flowers is present in your home at all times. It's also the one I plan to use on repeat this spring.
On What Homecourt's Evolution Has Meant to Her
Anytime Cox attaches her name to something, it's bound to generate buzz. "When I go to Jen's house, she's burning a [Homecourt] candle all the time, and I'm just really proud," Cox tells POPSUGAR, referencing former costar and longtime friendJennifer Aniston.
As for whether or not she thinks her famed sitcom character would approve of her foray into home care, she jokes, "Oh, Monica would be so proud." Cox also says she and Monica are definitely "similar," explaining, "I've always been really neat. Monica was so clean and so competitive. She was scrubbing all the time. I mean, I don't like anything to be dirty, but I don't do as much cleaning as I do straightening and organizing."
